today wouldn't be today without it.

April 8, 2010

i ordered this book just in time for spring;
(ee cummings is a good read for any day, or any time of year)
so spring is most definitely included --
but for some reason, today is an especially special: "ee cummings day."

with the sun shining (finally)
and one final finished already (au revoir professor white)
and a date to get a cupcake with him,
this poem is probably the one and only thing that makes everything (already great) just a tiny bit better.

so, ee cummings, you know that everything you have to say always makes me happy:
and today wouldn't be today without reading (and sharing) this.

who knows if the moon's
a balloon,coming out of a keen city
in the sky--filled with pretty people?
(and if you and i should

get into it,if they
should take me and take you into their balloon,
why then
we'd go up higher with all the pretty people

than houses and steeples and clouds:
go sailing
away and away sailing into a keen
city which nobody's ever visited,where

always
it's
Spring) and everyone's
in love and flowers pick themselves.

--this poem just feels like spring.

Ah I love Cummings. I still don't get why you changed your major. French? You belong with poetry Kels.

you are a french major?? I half agree with mandy that you totally belong with poetry... but maybe when you become a master at french you will create even more wonderousness with words in french! I bet once you really get the language their poetry is amazing!

and I hope your cupcake date goes smashingly! Sounds like it'll be perfect!

i got your comment and rofled. mostly because just YESTERDAY i was speaking of how i need to create a fake facebook so i can stalk certain people without them knowing its me. because i've deleted mine like 15 times and i always activate it back up.
i think we might be meant-to-be-blog friends. perfect.
